Toasting marshmallows

Is there anything better than this?

Toasting marshmallows over a flame on a blustery November evening takes some beating.

Yes they're too sweet. Yes they are too sticky. Yes they're really for children. Yes I should've removed all the background debris before I took the photographs. But you know what?

I don't care.
Not one bit.

What fun Antonia and who cares if those gorgeous marshmallows are too sticky or really for children, not I, I'd be sat toasting with you and joyously eating my way through these delights!!

What a wonderful idea for those cold nights when you are dreaming of summer. My kids would go nuts for this. I never thought of doing it inside. Great idea.

Toasted marshmallows are so so good, mine have a nasty habit of catching fire though!

I used to love them put inside 2 chocolate covered graham crackers with banana slices.... Mhmmm.

Perfect treat for a chilly evening when you want a bit of comofrt food !

Great fun! I think you're absolutely right - life doesn't get much better than toasted marshmallows :-)

One of the few things that I miss from pre-veggie days.

Toasted marshmallows are one of my favorite, small pleasures in life. Thank goodness for fire pits!

I like the background debris. Makes it all seem even more cosy. :)

Rosie - so glad I'm not alone in my secret passion for toasted marshmallows!

Joie de vivre - hello! Works just as well inside (...though possibly less atmospheric...).

Sam - I have the same problem. You have to be very patient and hold them quite a way above the flame and keep turning all the time.

Margaret - mmm. I'm rather sorry that I've run out of them!

Annie - that treat sounds seriously good too! Yum.

Lucy - thank you so much for the award! Extremely kind of you, thank you.

Sophie - They are such fun to eat!

Lynn - gosh, I'd never thought about them being non-vegetarian. But of course they are... What a shame!

Sandie - such a treat aren't they?!

Wendy - thank you. That makes me feel better! My flat is definitely a cosy rather than minimalist one (...though some would probably just say it was messy!)

Mmmm, when last did I have those? We always used to toast them over the BBQ fire, but I recall only disasterously black on the outside and still cold on the inside marshmallows when we tried them over candles. Probably too impatient!
