Yes - I hear that there is a lot of 'debate' between Australia and NZ as to where pavlova was invented - I'm definitely happy to side with you. And it wikipedia says so, then it MUST be true!

Ginger - do have a go! I've used this recipe for the meringue base so many times and it has never failed me. Just make sure the bowl you whisk the egg whites in is clean and that you bake on a low temperature. And don't miss out the cornflour or vinegar!

Sylvie - wish I could send you over a slice!

Lisarene - yes, I've never tried it in savoury cooking either, but have seen a few recipes that do so. The cornflour and vinegar are really important to ensure the marshmallow-like interior.

Val - ooh - home-grown rhubarb. That will be such a treat!Abitofafoodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13627160211408538168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2780447680661720141.post-27504958079743273892008-04-03T06:07:00.000+00:002008-04-03T06:07:00.000+00:00I can't wait for the first few stocks of rhubarb t...I can't wait for the first few stocks of rhubarb to pop up in the garden:DEValerie Harrison (bellini)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10205920305666658534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2780447680661720141.post-15183994021940242022008-04-03T04:37:00.000+00:002008-04-03T04:37:00.000+00:00I do need to start utilizing rhubarb more often. ...I do need to start utilizing rhubarb more often. Also, you are so right about pavlova being invented in New Zealand, don't ever believe an Australian who tries to tell you otherwise (plus the font of all knowledge wikipedia says so!)Kaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01162798219818625172noreply@blogger.com
